b) State the Problem: I want the class to visit Dublin Zoo, because there are awesome creatures there like cheetahs, tigers, lions, meerkats, lemurs, and more!
c) Thesis Statement: If you haven’t seen any of these animals before, you must go to the Dublin Zoo!
d) Preview Main Points:
- Dublin zoo has a cheetah
- Dublin zoo has a tiger too
- Dublin zoo also has a lion
Background
a) Historical Context: Cheetahs, lions, and tigers are currently endangered and conservativeestimates say there are less than 500 left in of each in the world.
b) Key Terms: Visit Dublin Zoo, See some of the last remaining cheetahs, lions, and tigers.
c) Current Situation: These animals are extremely endangered.
Main Point 1: These animals are rare.
a) Explanation: Each animal was estimated to have roughly 500 (usually fewer) remaining.
b) Evidence: The statistic was reported on by the zoo on its website and recorded/estimated by various outside referenced sources such as the International Union for Conservation of Nature
Main Point 2: Tickets are cheap and zoos are fun.
a) Explanation: The tickets to attend the zoo are cheap, only costing around 20 euro, and is a great way to spend a chunk of time with friends.
b) Evidence: Buy the tickets online. The zoo sells them at a discount online.
Conclusion
a) Restate the Thesis: The Dublin Zoo is a great place to go to spend a chunk of time and visit these rare creatures.
